Jet Airways Konnect, a new economy class service commenced by India’s ruling international airline Jet Airways intended to meet the needs of the low fare segment. It will harmonize Jet Airways’ full service product, by offering a service that is better suited to a market that requires an economically priced lowest airfare air tickets. Jet Konnect Airlines offers a no-frill, economy class service where guests will be provided attractive and competitive low fares.
Jet Konnect offers almost all services of the parent carrier and helps the airline cater to the needs of the fliers opting for low-fare services. The only dissimilarity between the two is Jet Konnect travellers will have to buy their meals on-board. Both Jet Airways and its low-cost carrier JetLite now provide food to their travellers on-board. Jet Konnect Flights will have dedicated aircraft for this service, the flight number range for this service will be unique and will assist both guests and travel agents identify the class of service.
Sudheer Raghavan, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways declared "Consumer demands are changing fast in a dynamic global environment, we believe the Jet Konnect Airlines service will give us the suppleness and speed to organize capacity to meet these changing trends .” He added that the routes chosen for Konnect were being worked by Jet Airways at 50 per cent load factor. Research shows that a low fare product on these routes would see load factor exceed 70 per cent and a passenger increase of approximately 35 per cent.
The Jet Airways Konnect Service have initially started with two 737 and six ATR aircraft on sectors such as Chennai-Coimbatore, Chennai-Madurai, Chennai-Kochi, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Mumbai-Bhopal, Mumbai-Udaipur, Bengaluru-Pune, Bengaluru-Mangalore.
