Jetlite

JetLite earlier named as Air Sahara, is an airline based in Mumbai owned by well renowned airlines Jet Airways, the airline operates programmed services linking metropolitan centres in India, and it operates 110 flights every day. The airline also offers helicopters that are available for charter services and aerial photography.

Buyout by Jet Airways
Jet Airways declared its first invasion effort on 19 January 2006, offering US$500 in cash for the airline. Market response to the deal was varied, with many analysts signifying that Jet Airways was paying too much for Air Sahara. The Indian Civil Aviation Ministry granted approval in principle, but the deal was finally called off over disagreements over price and the appointment of Jet chairman Naresh Goyal to the Air Sahara board. A second, eventually successful shot was made on 12 April 2007 with Jet Airways harmonizing to pay 1,450 crore ($340 million). The deal gave Jet a collective domestic market share of approximately 32%.

On 16 April Jet Airways proclaimed that Air Sahara will be renamed as JetLite. The capture was officially ended on 20 April, when Jet Airways paid total of 400 crore. JetLite has been relocated as a carrier presenting attractive low fares. It clogged donating complimentary food on board and now offers it for pay for individually. Jet Airways has introverted from many of its routes and has replaced it with JetLite Airlines operations to vie with full service carriers operating on those sectors. The integration of the fleets and structure of the two Airlines will produce new opportunities in terms of cost decline and supply facilities. And the synergy may actually assist Jet Airways on a longer run.

With the creation of this new section by JetLite Airways the competition in the already cut gorge Indian Aviation Industry got even worse. Although Air Sahara's existing plans for International flights have been put on hold to alleviate the transition into JetLite Airlines, there are certain plans to re start the services especially on the India-Malaysia Route on which the Air Sahara had been officially recognized to fly formerly, though that can be done only through Jet Airways platform.

JetLite Airlines renovation is also expected to boost up its fleet of aircrafts, as it is expecting the release of 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft which were regimented last year by the Air Sahara. Definitely the preliminary moves by the recently formed JetLite Airlines will be intimately monitored by other airliners as well as passengers who may get more benefits from the formation of this new Segment in the Indian Domestic Aviation Industry.
